Lovely piece of artwork. The style is great for a child's book. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the shading of the shadows. Because of the angle of the sun, the shadows belonging to the fox and tree should be at a sharper left angle than it is right now. [My sister says that that is a common mistake a lot of people make when they do shadows.] I also suggest that you add a bit of shading to the ground below the hill since they are curved. And the shadows on the hill should be long, too
Besides that, the drawing is quite excellent. Hat's off to you for it. >(^;^)<
[Hope this is a a good critique. First time doing one. D:]
I swear, before I read the description the first thing my mind was 'wonderful illustration for a children's book'. From that, I think you captured a lovely feel for such an illustration with a feel of... warmth, or at least that's how I would describe it xD I LOVE it. It has a sense of simplicity that makes it beautiful in a unique way :3 I love how you did the sunset as well, I like how the pastel/brush strokes look so natural....
Thank you sooooooooooooo much! That means the world to me! As does the fav!!
The simplicity, the warmth, everything you described was precisely what I was trying to capture, so I must have done something right! ^-^ I'm so mind-scramblingly excited that you love it! As I continue on with this project, I'll be (fingers crossed) adding lots of new pics/updates. I can only hope that they are all as equally adored as this piece. Thank you again!
At first, I read "awesome" as "awful". I didn't think I could go on with my life. But then I reread it, and everything turned around. Birds started chirping. The sun, despite having set already, started shining again. A little angel swooped down through the clouds with a case of Dr. Pepper. It was magical. ^-^
